With headlines lately of Teen Mom's Amber Portwood going to prison (not jail, PRISON) in a desperate attempt to kick drug addiction, one has to ask themselves, is the price of fame really worth the toll it's taking on these girls?  MTV has access to some of the absolute best drug treatment programs known and you're telling me the very best option Amber had was to go to prison?  I realize that there is A LOT we don't see on this series but at some point, shouldn't MTV have stepped in to help Amber and her family?  I mean, they made the decision to air footage of Amber hitting Gary and you can't tell me that the press the series would get from this wasn't a deciding factor behind that.  Shouldn't they at some point have said, this is a girl that is in desperate need of help.  She had little parental guidance to begin with and the domestic violence outburst was the first in a long string of events in her downward spiral.  I was watching the Teen Mom marathon this week and it was sad to see where Amber started and know how she ends up today.  I realize that we are all responsible for our own actions however, these girls are typically under the age of 18 when they are thrust into the spotlight of fame in 16 and Pregnant.  The combination of fame and money that comes with this spotlight has proven to be too much for some of these girls to handle at such a young age.  It's my belief that MTV needs to take a bigger responsibility in these girls lives and step in when they see things going downhill for the sake of these girls and their children.

Amber Portwood going away for 5 years

After asking a judge to put her back in jail to help her fight a drug addiction, Amber Portwood was sentenced to 5 years.  Her baby daddy Gary Shirley has and will remain in custody of their daughter Leah.  I feel awful for Amber that this is the only way to cope with her addiction but I hope she finds the help she needs.  Luckily she is young enough that her whole life will still be ahead of her when she gets released.  Unfortunately, Leah is going to do a lot of growing up in 5 years.

Chelsea vs Jenelle

Well it doesn't take much to read between the lines of Chelsea Houska's most recent tweets. It looks like the TM2 cast isn't getting along and have taken to twitter to vent. I would be careful if I were Chelsea, we all know Jenelle fights dirty! And let's be honest, should Chelsea really be the one making fun of anyone else's relationship?? She doesn't have the best track record... I can't wait to see the reunion show with all this awkwardness!

Here we go again

If you are like me and can't seem to keep up with Jenelle and Gary's ever changing relationship status, get ready for another twist!!  As quickly as they renewed their love and got "engaged", it's over AGAIN.  It seems that Jenelle just can't trust Gary after his previous affair and lets face it, if you don't have trust, you have nothing.  And it looks as if Jenelle is even gone so far as to let that jealousy seep into her cash cow Teen Mom 2 cast.  Gary posted this comment on Chealsea Houska's twitter:

That should make for an awkward reunion show!!  

Don't worry, I'm seeing a reunion with Keiffer in Jenelle's future, only to be followed by an explosive twitter rage breakup and then reunion with Gary.  Yes, I can see into the future......  Or can see the patterns between people who insist on living their life out on twitter and then insist on playing the victim card when the media attacks them.  

Personally, I think Jenelle has too much time on her hands.  I mean, I know tanning, going to the beach and working on her fitness at the gym are all very important, but believe it or not, regular people do all this AND work a 40-60 hour work week.  I think she needs to get a job and focus her attention elsewhere and not so much in finding her self worth in boys.......

We all know Chelsea is always on the lookout for her knight and shinning armor.  While she's no stranger to heartbreak, could there be a new prospect on the horizon??  You'll remember her short fling with Caged hottie Danielle that seemed to fizzle fast.  Well maybe she was barking up the wrong tree!!  Dane, Danielle's wing man, has seemed to pick up where Danielle left off and the two have been doing a lot of Twitter flirting including a Skype session and potential plans for a South Dakota visit!  Also, a little known fact is that Dane is a teen dad!!  It looks like these two have a lot more in common than meets the eye and I for one am hoping that Chels finds her Mr. Right soon!!!

New York, New York!!

Well, the time has finally come to say good bye to the original Teen Mom's.  The original cast was in NY this week to film the reunion special.  This cast was different from the rest because they had NO IDEA what they were getting themselves into.  They were brave enough to take a chance and expose their entire lives to the public with no insight as to what was waiting for them.  I commend them for their courage and hope that this isn't the last we see of them!!!

P.S.  Notably absent was Amber Portwood who is currently in jail awaiting her final sentencing.  I hope Amber can pull it together after the spotlight dims and get herself on the right track.
